Pinot at Cloudy Bay In New Zealand
Foxtrot Vineyards 2010 Pinot Noir was involved in a Blind tasting held at the annual Pinot at Cloudy Bay. Held at Cloudy Bay Winery in Marlborough New Zealand, trade representatives, media and Pinot lovers gather to taste 18 of the most exquisite examples of Pinot Noir from around the world.
“The Grand Tasting is served in two flights of 9, with expert commentary and discussion provided by a panel. Guests are encouraged to share their opinion and insights. Nick Blampied-Lane is Cloudy Bay’s Pinot Noir aficionado and is challenged each year to select the 18 wines to be showcased. Wines are selected on the basis of variety character, quality and regional diversity. The wines must be 100 percent Pinot Noir and from a single region. It is a process that embraces elements of transparency, impartiality and above all, integrity. Whenever possible the wines are tasted blind in appropriate conditions. The prime objective is to provide a range of wines that celebrate the unique qualities and regional variations of Pinot Noir from all major regions producing this variety. ” -Cloudy Bay Website.
